Dr. Katerina Douma-Michelaki, DDS, Dipl. Ortho, PhD

Katerina Douma is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontists. She received her Dental degree from the School of Dentistry National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, with continuous scholarships throughout her studies, and distinction from the State Scholarship Foundation upon graduation among the top of her Class.

She was immediately accepted into the Postgraduate Department of Orthodontics and Maxillofacial Orthopedics at the University of Louisville, USA. She completed the specialty of Orthodontics with scholarships after exams from the National State Scholarship Foundation and the P. Tzinopoulou endowment.

Upon her return to Greece she became a scientific associate at the Department of Orthodontics of the University of Athens, where she completed her doctoral thesis based on a clinical and radiographic study of children with skeletal class III, which was completed with a unanimous "Excellent".

She maintains a private practice in Athens and deals with the treatment of children, teenagers and adults with all certified modern methods and an emphasis on new technologies. At the same time, she is an active member of Scientific, Social and Charitable Organizations with the aim of promoting Dental health, offering services in collaboration with national organizations such as "The Smile of the Child" and international organizations such as the "Special Olympics".

She was a clinical assistant professor in the postgraduate department of Orthodontics at the European University College, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

She participates continuously with presentations at conferences in Greece, Europe, United Kingdom, USA, Canada and United Arab Emirates.

Dr Douma is an active member of ABO, AAO, WFO, International College of Dentists, EAS, GAOSR, GRESLO, member of the Ministry of Health Committee for the Specialty in Orthodontics and has represented Greece in the World Federation of Orthodontists Meeting in Miami 2022.
She has been among the founding members of Greek Orthodontic Aligner Society and its President since 2021.

Dr Angelopoulos is a Research Associate of National Kapodistrian University of Athens where he obtained his Dental and Doctorate degrees. His Diploma in Orthodontics and Master of Science in Oral Physiology were obtained from University of Toronto where at graduation he received the Aaron Posen award for excellence and creativity in the postgraduate program. He has received numerous awards including the Harry Sicher First Research Award by the AAO. He has been a co-recipient of European Invisalign awards in 2017, 2018 and 2021. His presentations are focused in aligners, self-ligation, and multidisciplinary orthodontics. He serves as a reviewer in many Journals including the AJODO. He has published in many Greek and International Journals. He is currently the elected vice-President of the Greek Association for Orthodontic Study and Research and of the Greek Orthodontic Aligner Society the co-editor in Chief of the Greek Journal of Orthodontics, member of the Scientific Committee of the Attica Dental Association, member of the committee for Orthodontics of the Central council of Health, Ambassador of the AAO and MOIP, and WFO councilor.

Evi Stamou received her dental degree (D.D.S) from the Dental School of the University of Athens, Greece. She subsequently completed a graduate program on Advanced General Dentistry at Boston University, where she received the C.A.G.S. certificate. Following that, she specialized in Orthodontics at Tel-Aviv University, where she received her Diploma in Orthodontics (D.Orth.) and her Master's Degree (M.S.). During her Master's, she also received the Best Scientific Research Award.

She has published in international journals and has presented in both international and Greek national congresses.

She has also served as Secretary of the Greek Association for Orthodontic Study and Research (G.A.O.S.R.).

Since 2018 she is a member of the board of directors of the Greek Orthodontic Aligner Society (G.O.A.S.).

Dr Michael Maroulakos is trained in the Specialty of Orthodontics. He received his dental degree from the University of Athens in 2005 and he completed a residency and a Masters in Orthodontics at the same University in 2012. He achieved board certification from the Ministry of Health in 2013. In 2015, he completed a Craniofacial, Surgical, and Special Care Orthodontics Fellowship at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, where he received scholarship from the American Dental Society of Europe.

He maintains a busy orthodontic private practice for kids, adolescents, and adults at Natural Smiles Specialized Dentistry in Alimos, Athens. He frequently receives dental continuing education in his field in Greece and abroad and has been an active member of several Greek, American, and international Orthodontic associations. Furthermore, he shares his expertise at the University of Athens where he serves as a part-time clinical instructor and has been a member of the Greek Craniofacial Center, which specializes in the rehabilitation of complex craniofacial problems.

Dr. George Damanakis, finished the Dental school of Athens University in 1991. Between the years of 1993 and 1996 he did his Master program in Oral biology in Athens University. He has completed the postgraduate course for orthodontics in Athens University the years 1996 - 1999. In 2018 he got his PhD from the Medical school of Athens University and the subject was «Orthodontic tooth movements in rats with diabetes».

He is a member of Piraeus Dental Society and also a member of the Board of the Greek Orthodontic Aligner Society and a Clinical Assistant in the Orthodontic Department of Athens University.

He was also the vice president of Panionios Basketball team . He has his private orthodontics office in Athens, L. Posidonos 51, in Faliro

Dr Ioanna Gidarakou received her dental degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Magna Cum Laude. She then completed her orthodontic specialty at Eastman Dental Center, University of Rochester, NY. At the same time, she received her TMJD degree and completed a 1-year fellowship on genetics at the Pediatric Department, School of Medicine, University of Rochester, NY. She pursued her PhD thesis on Class II growing patients at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Dr Gidarakou has been actively involved in academics, teaching pre- and post-graduate students, giving lectures worldwide and publishing numerous articles in prestigious orthodontic journals.
